Ms. Mayra Butler is a visionary, faith-driven leader with more than 15 years of dedicated experience in child welfare and social services. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Texas A&M International University and has been a licensed Child-Placing Agency Administrator since 2014.

Ms. Butler began her career in 2010 as a case manager, where her calling to serve vulnerable children quickly took shape. Her commitment to excellence and compassionate leadership led her to advance into roles as Program Director and later Regional Director. Before establishing Serenity, she founded and successfully grew another foster care agency, later selling it after building strong, sustainable systems of care. Her ability to build and scale high-impact programs reflects her deep expertise and unwavering dedication to strengthening the foster care system.

Rooted in faith, Ms. Butler credits all her accomplishments to God’s guidance, grace, and provision. She believes her purpose is to lead with humility and a servant heart—placing children, caregivers, and the mission above all else.

As the founder of Serenity, she embraces the guiding principle: “You Love. We Serve.”
This reflects Serenity’s belief that foster parents and caregivers provide the love that heals, while Serenity serves with compassion, support, and a servant-hearted commitment to both families and children. Together, this partnership creates a foundation of safety, healing, and hope.

Ms. Butler is also a proud mother of four beautiful children, who are her strength, her daily inspiration, and the future of Serenity. Her children are a constant reminder of why she serves—with love, faith, and an unwavering dedication to creating a better world for all children.

Today, Ms. Butler leads Serenity Children’s Center of Texas with vision, humility, and a steadfast commitment to creating safe, nurturing, and transformative environments for children in care. Her passion for advocacy and faith-based principles remains at the heart of everything Serenity represents: Where love heals, serenity comforts, and joy shines.
